My dad was an ironworker so we were always welding or fabricating together. I came across NIX after graduation and figured it would be a good fit. 5 years and many learning experiences later, it was a great fit. I enjoy being challenged daily, I enjoy learning from everyone, and most of all I enjoy WINNING as a team.

Everyone always says they enjoy working with everyone around them, but it's true. I enjoy coming to work and seeing everyone. It's like working with your brothers if you had a large family. If I mess up or do something stupid, they poke fun and laugh at me. At the same time, If I need help or support either professionally or personally, they are always there. I know I could go to anyone at any time and get advice or assistance. Because of this relationship, I especially enjoy trying to make the machinist job easier by taking a complicated and confusing drawing or part that a customer has provided and removing the clutter to show exactly what the machinist needs in the simplest way possible. Most people don't really WANT to go to work everyday, but we all have to. I consider myself blessed and fortunate to work for Nix. I actually enjoy what I do and who I work with.

After I decided I was getting out of NASCAR and moving back home, I knew I needed to have something. I had been following Matthew and Nix on Facebook and keeping up with the growth the company was having. I interviewed with Matthew and Adam Schmit and I really felt like this would be a good fit for me. 7 years later it still amazes me how far we have come from the days of only having a 1.5 ton crane and a group of 5-6 guys on the shop floor to where we are today and the growth just continues.

It was probably 2012 when I first met Matthew, he had came into my previous employer to see what Nix could do for us. I remember visiting Poseyville and climbing on a yacht at the Fletchall location. Matthew at that time had a big dream which inspired me to follow him / Nix. It was a short time after that Adam Schmitt, Brian Merkley, and Brandon Wright were quoting jobs for me. I could see the growth, positivity and ambition and wanted to be a part of that, so in 2021 I decided to apply and be a part of Nix. There are good companies around the area but there is none like Nix. The positivity and ambition is off the chart and makes one feel part of the team. To my wife and I, I feel we are one big family willing to help each other grow.

I have always enjoyed metalworking since I was a kid. At Nix, I get to see a wide variety of opportunities and projects which always makes it interesting. I also get fulfillment in beating the competition and winning work to keep our guys busy in the shops. I also enjoy working with everyone. When times get tough we all do what it takes to get through it.

I had followed the company's growth on social media throughout college and would hear consistent good things about Nix and its presence in the community. When covid changed my set plans after college, I saw an opportunity to come to Nix and instantly jumped on it. Although I have only been here for a short period of time, I can tell a great difference in my view towards work. I really enjoy coming to work, plus the energy and drive everyone brings to NIX is amazing. It's simply a great atmosphere here.

I chose Nix mainly because I heard of how well they treat their employees, like family. It’s nice to be a part of a family and I notice it everyday.

Since day 1 of working with Nix I feel as an equal, from upper management to the foreman. I like the space and respect given to complete the task at hand without having a superior breathing down my neck. I appreciate the welcoming culture and willingness of every team member to help each other out during work or after hours. The Nix team is like family!

As a former High School coach I enjoyed winning the games & tournaments that we were not supposed to win. Nix has given me a place to still be competitive. Being part of a team that is pushing everyday to achieve goals & have wins that surprise people outside the team is very special.

When I saw the accounting position open at Nix, it was an immediate no brainer for me. I had been following the articles and posts about Nix for some time. I’m glad I made the switch to a family owned and operated business. The Core Values at Nix are what I have been taught my whole life. They are already a part of how I strive to live and work each day. I see those core values of commitment to excellence, integrity, caring for people, teamwork and most importantly fun, play out each day in all divisions. I’m happy to be a part of that, and help Nix live out its Mission Statement, “Be Big Act Small.” Now, when I see the awesome projects you all work so hard on, I can say, “that’s my team!”
