Employee Spotlight: January 2018

Ryan Hufford

Project Manager, Nix Metals

Q: What is something your coworkers may not know about you?

A:  I planned on joining the military as an officer to pursue becoming a pilot if the NIX position I applied for had not worked out.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?

A:   Hunting, fishing, camping, biking, riding – basically anything outdoors

Q: Where did you go to school?

A:   University of Southern Indiana – Majored in Industrial Supervision

Q: Before working at Nix, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?

A:  Carrying hod for a masonry company when I was 16.  It was the hardest, hottest, yet most influential job for a 16 year old.

It taught me respect for hard work as well as the importance for a good education.

Q: Are you married?

A:   Not yet. Perhaps in the near future. You know 2, 5, 10ish years from now.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Nix Companies?

A:   My favorite thing about working at NIX Companies is the comradery, talent, respect, and family oriented drive that keeps us positive and successful. It is rewarding.

Q: Tell us a funny or embarrassing story while you were at work.

A:   Apparently, turtle neck sweaters are a more likely to “not deliver on time” during the holidays rather than turtle neck for a turtle stew.
