Q: What is something your co-workers may not know about you?
A: Upon graduating from high school in 2006, I started a small business that manufactured wooden baseball bats for amateur and semi-professional players across the US. While the business itself was not as much of a success as I’d hoped, it taught me several valuable lessons, both in business and in life that I still cherish.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: I enjoy fishing, woodworking, home improvement projects, and the occasional round of golf.
Q: Where did you go to school or training?
A: I graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2006 where I’d completed a two-year Architectural Design & Drafting program via the EVSC (now provided through SICTC). Upon graduation, I briefly attended the Art Institute of Indianapolis before returning home to study engineering and business administration at the University of Southern Indiana.
Q: Before working at Nix, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?
A: Prior to joining Nix Companies, I was employed as a Project Engineer at Berry Global within their International HH&S division where I focused on new product development throughout EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa) as well as Asia. Such role allowed me the opportunity to travel throughout Asia, India, and Dubai where I gained an increased appreciation for other cultures and lifestyles.
Q: Are you married?
A: Yes. My wife, Christina, and I were recently married on June 9, 2018.
Q: Do you have any children?
A: Yes. We have a son, Cameron, who recently turned 9 years old and will be entering the 4th grade at Newburgh Elementary this year.
Q: What is your favorite part thing about working at Nix Companies?
A: The diversity of projects in which we are involved in and the customer base we serve is my favorite. All of that, plus the incredible individuals who make these projects come to life allows for an attractive and enjoyable work environment.
Q: What has been your favorite project you have designed or worked on so far at Nix Companies?
A: One of my favorite projects to date was for a local machine shop here in the tri-state. Nix Companies was asked to design a machine guarding and operator platform system to be installed around the perimeter of a newly purchased machining center. The project was completed on schedule and within budget, providing the customer a full turn-key safety solution.
