Director of Operations/ General Manager-Nix Metals
Brandon joined our company in 2015 to manage our newly acquired Nix Equipment. Brandon was instrumental in development of processes and procedures, integration, and provided the necessary leadership to move this new division ahead. With the ‘newness' now stabilized, Brandon is able to focus efforts in his new role across all Nix Companies' entities. In his operations role he is able to leverage his degree in industrial technology and industrial distribution from Purdue University and his decade plus experience in a similar business, to develop and lead our growing company's needs in areas such as safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvements.
Director of Pre-Production
Kevin joined the Nix team in January of 2020. Kevin graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He has spent the last 14 years as a Project Engineer and then Senior Estimator in the construction contractor space. Kevin's years of experience in managing and estimating projects from PO to project completion will help Nix streamline the pre-production process.
Ryan Weinzapfel joined our company to lead our ever-growing engineering department. This consists of CAD design, mechanical and structural engineering, estimating, and purchasing. Ryan is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He also brings with him well-rounded and extremely relevant career experience in customer service, trouble shooting, design, and project management. Ryan's value has improved the quality of our products as well as expanded our capabilities and offerings to customers. Ryan's ‘common sense' approach coupled with his exceptional mechanical and problem solving mind set, makes him a great asset to our team.
Project Manager- Poseyville
Ryan Hufford joined our team in the summer of 2017 to help build on the synergy between our sales and engineering departments as a project manager & sales specialist. Coupled with his B.S. in Industrial Supervision and prior work experiences at several reputable companies, we are excited to bring Ryan into the NIX family and expect great things from him as he grows accustomed to our culture, camaraderie, and the interesting/challenging projects we provide to our customers.
Quality Manager I Project Manager - Poseyville
Tony began his career at Nix Metals in January of 2013 as a metal fabricator and welder. Tony brings a lot of experience to Nix from his 16 year tenure as a fabricator. His hard work and experience quickly promoted him to the Fabrication Shop Foreman where he is able to lead our growing team to follow the same standards and practices set forth by prior generations. Tony's nature of organization and cleanliness, leave our shop safer, more efficient, and setting the standard for quality craftsmanship.
Custom Fabrication Division
Operations Manager - Custom Fabrication
Tracy joined Nix Metals in the fall of 2015. He worked in our engineering department doing concept design for customers, creating complete fabrication drawings for our shop, estimating, and project management. Tracy brings with him, a well-rounded skill set and great experience in both CAD design and construction management. Tracy was promoted to Operations Manager for the Nix Metals Poseyville location in 2018. His experience in the office and collaboration with the team in the shop as Project Manager made him a great fit for the Operations Manager position.
CAD Designer / Detailer- Custom Fabrication
Jack joined the Nix team in April of 2019. He is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana in Engineering Technologies. Jack comes to Nix with experience in project engineering, continuous improvement, CAD design and process improvement. Jack will be working with our engineering department to provide drawings for our customers as well as detailing for our custom fabrication division.
Shop Foreman - Custom Fabrication
Brett joined Nix Metals in
July of 2017. Brett started a career in
welding and fabrication 17 years ago. He brings a lot of understanding and
experience having been involved with small fabrication projects and electric
motor manufacturing up to large structural steel projects of 80,000 pounds
plus. Brett's leadership, experience and commitment to quality allow him to
lead our growing team to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
Material Processing Team Leader - Custom Fabrication
Lance Allen joined our team in late 2014 as a fabricator and primary operator of our new CNC plasma system. Lance has an interesting and useful back ground working on the Nascar circuit as a member of the pit crew. This experience gave Lance a great understanding of team work, quality, and work ethic. Today Lance has grown into a leadership role within our material processing division of the shop. He is responsible for material inventory, timely & quality parts that supply our two shops, and retail sales through our metal sales division.
Repairs & Maintenance Division
Operations Manager - Repairs & Maintenance
Adam grew up working in the family business through high school, and as a summer intern while attending University of Southern Indiana. Adam is known for his warm personality and exceptional customer service. In addition to leading our shop at our Repairs & Maintenance Division as the Operations Manager, Adam recently helped develop and now runs our company training program. His unique experience and his intelligence coupled with his great personality and demeanor make him an excellent asset as our company continues to grow.
Mobile Services Foreman
Casey came on board in the fall of 2015. Casey has an excellent and well-rounded arsenal of education and on the job training. His experience in fabrication and industrial maintenance serve him well as the leader of our Mobile Services. Our customers will surely appreciate getting to know Casey outside of the shop walls as he visits their facilities and locations.
Master Service Technician
Chris joined the Nix Equipment family through the Tri-County Equipment of Poseyville in January of 2015. Chris has a wide and in-depth knowledge and experience of agricultural and construction equipment maintenance and repairs. His knowledge and experience adds another service to the expanded list of offerings by Nix Equipment.
Jerry joined Nix in May of 2019 with 20 years of machining experience. At his previous company, he worked his way from a CNC Operator up to Production Supervisor of Manufacturing. He is now our Repairs & Maintenance Division's Service Coordinator where he focuses on production scheduling, project management, and customer relations. Jerry brings a great team-first attitude to our R&M team while also exhibiting strong leadership skills.
Welding & Repair Lead
Jake joined Nix in August of 2019 as a Welding and Repair Technician. He has since been promoted to Welding and Repair Lead at our Repairs & Maintenance shop in Poseyville. Jake brings years of experience in welding and maintenance from previous positions and he also studied welding at the Southern Indiana Career & Technical Center. You'll often find Jake with a smile on his face whenever you see him due to his strong passion for his job and his great attitude.
Structural Fab Division
Operations Manager - Superior Fabrication
Curtis has been involved in the metal fabrication industry
his entire life. He started working in
this industry at a very young age; his career began as a kid working with his
dad on his mobile welding truck gaining experience in the oil fields and the heavy
equipment industry. From here, Curtis
went on to gain seven years’ experience erecting steel before he transferred
his focus to shop fabrication. Curtis then
began his career outside of the shop as an estimator as he worked for a tank
and pressure vessel fabricator and later moved to project management and sales management. In 1997 Curtis pursued his passion and began
Superior Fabrication. Curtis has a
passion for serving his employees, customers, and the community. Curtis will be continuing his leadership role
at Superior Fabrication. as the Operations Manager.
Detailing Manager - Superior Fabrication
Adam Williams grew up in Evansville, IN where he graduated
from North High School in 1997 and went on to attend Ivy Tech Community
College. Adam left Ivy Tech when he was offered a job as a Structural Detailer
in 1998. Adam worked as a Structural Detailer for 13 years before accepting a
job in 2011 to Design and Detail Fuel and Water Tanks. During this time Adam
decided to return to Ivy Tech Community College where he earned an Associate’s
Degree for Computer Information Technology in 2012. In 2013 Adam was offered a
job as a Structural Detailer, Adam welcomed the change and returned to the
field of his choice. Adam worked at this job for 3 years before accepting a
position at Superior Fabrication in 2016.
Adam has 19 years in the Steel Industry whether it is
Detailing and Checking Structural Steel or Designing Water and Fuel Tanks. Adam
is well versed in SDS/2, AutoCAD, FabSuite and Microsoft Office products.
Project Manager - Superior Fabrication
Nick Hawkinson has been with Superior Fabrication for two years. He has a degree from Western Kentucky University
in Construction Technology. Nick has several
years of project management experience working as a Foreman for Commercial
Construction General Contractor. Nicks
project management experience and commitment to quality will allow him to lead
our team to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
Lead Estimator - Superior Fabrication
Gary joined the Nix team in 2018. Gary has extensive experience in the field of fabrication. Gary has been in estimating, project management and shop operations. We are looking forward to learning from Gary’s years of experience at both Superior Fabrication and Nix Metals.
Detailer- Superior Fabrication
Wendell joined the Nix team in the spring of 2019. Wendell has over 40 years in structural and miscellaneous metals detailing experience. We are excited to have him and his decades of knowledge to join the great team at Superior Fabrication.
Shop Foreman - Superior Fabrication
Tim joined our Structural Fab Division as a fabricator in January of 2018. His leadership skills and "can-do" attitude helped him be promoted to Shop Foreman at our Structural Fab Division where he continues to lead the shop helping his team get work done in an efficient manner while also keeping the culture fun.
Heritage Heavy Fab & Machining Division
Machine Shop Foreman - Heritage
Jake joined the Nix team in July of 2019. He attended Vincennes University where he earned an associates degree for Mold Making. He then went to work for Berry Plastics for 11 years where he ran and programmed CNC equipment and rebuilt existing molds. He gained experience in managing complete mold rebuilds. Jake ran the quality department and created quality processes for his department. Jake then worked for Fisher Tool and Design where he worked more with CNC machines and CMM. Currently, Jake is the shop foreman where is responsible for running and programming CNC equipment and manual equipment. He is involved in gearbox rebuilds-from quoting to writing procedures. Jake does an excellent job assisting his team in making sure they have the tools and information to do their job and making sure the shop is running safely and efficiently.
Estimating / Project Manager - Heritage
Sam began with Nix following the acquisition of his company in July of 2019. He attended VU in the machine trades program and finished in 1997. He began his career at HMC in 1997, primarily running their large CNC VTL as night shift operator and running various other machines, lathes and mills. He then went on to be a team lead for the Turning/Milling department and the on to the Turning/Milling Department Manager. In these rolls he gained experience in operations, purchasing, maintenance as well as hiring and managing team members. He acquired knowledge in purchasing and installation of new equipment and became heavily involved with machine maintenance & repair. He was responsible for scheduling of the department in coordination with gear cutting and welding. He then went on to be the Manufacturing Manager in which he was responsible for all production throughout the facility, quote forecasting and shipping/receiving. In May of 2017 he took over operations at Heritage and went on to purchase the business in November of 2017. Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and we are excited to carry on his work under the Nix family name.
Engineering Manager - Heritage
Darvin joined Nix in July of 2019. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school, serving as a jet engine mechanic on AV-8B Harriers. After completing his enlistment, he returned to Princeton and gained employment with a fabrication/machine shop as a CNC burn table operator. After 2 years he re-entered the service with the U.S. Army and retired in 2010. Upon relocating back to Princeton, he worked as a fabricator with his previous employer. He work in the shop and performed tasks of welding, burn table operator and press brake operations for several years before becoming the weld shop supervisor and preforming manual machining work. During this time Darvin also worked with the company engineer and went to school for AutoCAD, assisting in design and drawing of parts and assemblies. Between 2016 to 2019 he served as the operations manager, while continuing to work closely with the engineering department. Currently he works in the engineering department and is responsible for design & reverse engineering of machined parts and assemblies.
Fabrication Foreman - Heritage
Addison started with Nix as a Welding and Fabrication Technician in May of 2018. He quickly became our Lead Fabricator at our Custom Fabrication shop before taking the role as Fabrication Foreman at our Heritage Heavy Fab Shop. Addison has shown great leadership skills and continues to develop into a great asset for Nix Companies while also bringing a lot of value to our customers.
