Quality - ISO PATH

In addition to being AISC Certified at our Structural Fabrication Division, we have been putting the pieces in place over the past few years to be ISO Compliant within all divisions. In 2020, we partnered with Purdue MEP to finalize our ISO Program and take it from being ISO Compliant to being ISO 9001: 2015 Certified. We are in the final stages of this program and expect to have our certification within the first half of 2021. Our Custom Fabrication Division will be the first to become ISO 9001: 2015 Certified which we will then look to replicate across all other divisions. Producing quality products and services for our customers is a top priority at Nix, and we are excited to be taking the next steps in our quality journey to ensure that we can continue to meet or exceed our customer’s quality expectations.

A Message from Matthew

“Happy New Year!” For many people, I think those three words have an extra special ring this year. What an interesting year 2020 has been. Among the many challenges the year brought (working from home, virtual schooling, being laid off, quarantine, sick loved ones, cancelled events, cancelled church, drive through graduations and funerals, re-scheduled vacations, smaller holiday gatherings, and the list goes on) I hope you found a sliver of light in all the darkness. Maybe 2020 was a great year for you and your family? Maybe you enjoyed the extra downtime and were able to spend some quality time as a family? Maybe, like me, you built a treehouse with your kids (something you may not have otherwise found the time to do in all the craziness of the world). Or, like my wife, you went to the park with the kids or just went for a walk during the pretty spring days of quarantine. Maybe, like us, you welcomed a new member to the family. Whatever it was, I hope this slow down brought you and your family a few positives that you will take with you into the new year. And if 2020, was in fact the most challenging year yet (as it understandably was for many), I hope that 2021 brings you and your family a new start.

Nix Family Update

Grandpa, ‘Sonny’ (Carl Jr.) is 86 and doing wonderful! He still plays golf, goes to the gym, hunts, fishes, works in his garden (next to our main office) and (of course) keeps tabs on us. He has attended our recent company wide meetings and is always the most popular guest. Dad, (Bill) is 66, sem-retired, and still working 3-4 days a week. Although, I think he’s leaning more toward 3 lately. We may need to revisit his contract.  Lindsey is working with us in business development & PR. Her and I just welcomed our third Son, Roman Tyler Nix in November. Charlie and Mason will be 7 and 5 in March. My father-in-law, (Don) continues to work for us part time after retiring from a 40 year career with UPS. Don keeps the pace around here and he’s the only part time guy I’ve ever met who manages to get into overtime hours . Adam is running one of our 6 operation divisions as well as leading our corporate wide health & safety program. He and his wife are expecting their second daughter this spring. Their daughter Harper is 3.
